IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Bartley Edward Domin, 70, of Ironwood Township, passed away at home on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, following a lengthy illness.
Bart was born on June 9, 1955, in Duluth, Minnesota, son of the late Edward J. and Norma A. (St. Catherine) Domin.
On Sept. 8, 1990, he married the love of his life, Sally A. Boesler, at his parents' home on Jackson Road in Ironwood Township.
For 30 years, Bart owned and operated the Black Bear Sporting Goods on Cloverland Drive in Ironwood.
He was an enthusiastic fisherman, who relished fly fishing for steelhead trout and had won many trophies in the Black River Fishing Tournament. Throughout the years, Bart took great pleasure guiding many people on fishing tours. He and Sally spent many happy years boating on Lake Superior. He also was an avid deer hunter, who bagged and mounted many bucks. Another favorite hobby of Bart's was golfing. He belonged to a men's golf league and in his spare time loved golfing with his wife.
Bart built his home on Sunset Road in Ironwood Township, where he enjoyed living and spending his retirement years.
Bart is survived by his beloved wife, Sally; a sister, Carrie Stiegler; his sister-in-law, Sherry Boesler; a niece, Resi (David) Ketterer, and their three daughters; a nephew, Seppi (Alex) Stiegler; two aunts, Esther St. Catherine and Terri St. Catherine; and a cousin, Mary Beth (Arthur) Leppi.
He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Out of respect for his wishes, cremation has taken place.
A reception in celebration of Bart's life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, from noon to 2 p.m., at Rigoni's Inn, 925 E. Ayer St., in Ironwood.
