Barbara Ann Johnson, 71, of 606 Neidhold Ave., Wakefield, passed away Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, in Wakefield.
Barbara was born on Jan. 29, 1940, in Ironwood, the daughter of Armand Curtis and Nellie (Polley) Powell. She graduated from Marenisco High School.
On Oct. 26, 1957, Barbara married Ralph Raymond "Rayball" Johnson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wakefield.
She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara enjoyed shopping and going to rummage sales.
She was employed by the Wakefield Motor Lodge, Munsingwear Inc., Indianhead Mountain and resorts.
Barbara is survived by a daughter, Susan (Dennis) Niemela, North Hudson, Wis.; three sons, David (Joyce), Wakefield, Bruce (Joanna), Bell Buckle, Tenn., and Walter (Bonnie), Winneconne, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Earla Ryskey, Nancy (Mike) Ikola, Geri (Pete) Rigoni, Kitty (John) Zorich, Linda (Sonny) Miller, Ronnie Powell and Bill (Nan) Powell; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Willard "Bill" Leinon; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, including special niece, Mary (Lou) Boetto; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph "Rayball," on Jan. 4, 2007; a daughter, Laurie Ann Johnson, on Jan. 29, 1995; three grandchildren, Taylor Paul, in infancy, Robert "Bobby" and Laura Lee; and two sisters, Elaine Antoine and Donna Hand, and a brother and sister, in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at the Wakefield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ted Trudgeon officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Barbara's family.
