BESSEMER, Mich. – Ann Marie Turkal, 98, died peacefully at her home in Bessemer on June 30, 2018.

She is survived by two sisters: Helen Schaller and Josephine Kopnick, both of Bessemer, and her sister-in-law, Beverly, of Illinois. She also has more than 75 nieces and nephews to the third generation.

Ann Marie is a lifelong resident of Bessemer. She attended St. Sebastian Catholic School and A. D. Johnston High School. During World War II, Ann Marie was employed by the Draft Board. She worked at Steiger Lumber Company for most of her career.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 3rd, from 1-2 p.m. at St. Sebastian Church, followed by a celebration Mass at 2:00 p.m. The family is being assisted by Lakeside Memorial Chapel.

To Ann Marie: On this Fourth of July, we will celebrate your amazing spirit, your independent character, your unfailing faith and your generous caring heart. We are thankful for our time with you and your influence on all of us. We will miss you greatly. We will remember you daily, and we will love you always.
